Adagio Acts
An adagio act is a lyrical dance based act involving 'lifts' where the 'base' lifts the 'flyer' into the air to hold poses, many of which originated in the sport of figure skating. Slow and controlled, adagio is usually performed by a man and woman (although not always), with a romantic focus. The acrobatic nature of the lifts takes the adagio out of the realms of pure dance which is why it is often featured in circus and variety programs. Now days, the art of adagio is also especially well loved on cruise ships. Our circus agency represents a fine selection of the world's most beautiful adagio duos.
